NJ's largest lake

Lake Hopatcong is NJ's largest body of fresh water. It was dammed during the 19th century. There are many beautiful lakes in the NJ Highlands, and Lake Hopatcong may perhaps have been one of them once. The area around Lake Hopatcong is intensely developed. Also an intensely glacially scoured area, many of its homes have exposed bedrock for backyards. Stuff. Other stuff.
